About Sutton Vineyard

Sutton Vineyard is a community of ordinary people who love Jesus and want those around us to know him too. Our Mission statement is to invite people into their first and next encounter with God. We meet on Sundays, but do life together during the week. We love our community, and want Sutton to look different because we exist.

Sutton Vineyard is affiliated to Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland, and a member of the Evangelical Alliance. Vineyard Churches have a Statement of Faith which outlines what we believe and the supporting Bible verses.

In April 1997, our founding pastors, Jason and Bev Clark, along with ten friends, were blessed and sent out from South West London Vineyard to begin a new church in Sutton. Having already lived in Sutton with their family for three years, they sensed that God was calling them to make this borough home to a new faith community.

What began in Jason and Bev’s living room grew into a church family learning to follow Jesus in the everyday, ordinary rhythms of life. From the very beginning, Sutton Vineyard was a place where people could bring their questions, doubts, and hopes, and discover God’s love together.

Over the years, countless stories of faith, transformation, and service have shaped our community. People from all walks of life have joined in, experiencing God’s goodness and finding ways to love their neighbours and serve Sutton.

After faithfully leading Sutton Vineyard for 25 years, Jason and Bev were called into new roles at Waverley Abbey. With the support of Interim Pastors, Steve and Lyn Burnhope, the church then entered a new chapter, appointing Julian and Libby Arnold as Senior Pastors.

Today, Sutton Vineyard continues to be a family where we do life together, grow in faith, and invite people into their first — and next — encounter with God.
