Community

Comminity_circle_v3.png

We love Sutton, and being part of London, and are committed to making a difference in our local area by serving generously and abundantly, connecting with people to see lives transformed both physically and spiritually.

We want to make a difference by practically demonstrating God's love and acceptance to everyone, with no strings attached, whatever their background, circumstances or religion - because we believe that God is compassionate and cares deeply about our neighbourhoods and our community.

We have a range of compassion ministries which enable us to do this through one-off events, and regular spaces to meet, serve and pray with people. This includes our growbaby project - Lighthouse - and our toddler group The Wendy House. We run short courses on practical topics and partner with Sutton Schools Work and Sutton Community Works locally.

HOTS

HOTS

Healing On The Streets is a simple, non-confrontational way to reach out to the lost and hurting on the streets of Sutton. It enables us to connect with our community on a regular basis, powerfully expressing God’s love in the marketplace. A team can be found on Sutton High street every other Saturday, whatever the weather!

We simply invite those who are interested to sit and be prayed for. By being out on the high street on a regular basis, we are able to be part of a longer-term commitment to our community, building relationships with those we encounter.

For more information, speak to Paul Smout or email hots@suttonvineyard.org

Courses

Courses

There are many things we do in life for which we get no training, and have to just ‘learn on the job’.

We run a range of courses focused on a particular area of life which are valuable to both people from within our own church, and in the local community.

Our courses can help you to be a better parent, build a stronger marriage or be smarter with your money by taking the opportunity to take time to reflect on what we are doing whilst learning tips and skills from good-quality material as well as sharing ideas with other people.

All our courses are free, interactive and discussion-based, but with no requirement to disclose anything you don’t want to.

Sutton Community Works

Sutton Community Works

Sutton Vineyard is one of the local churches that make up Sutton Community Works – a group of churches in the London Borough of Sutton committed to putting faith into action to meet the needs of local communities. Sutton Community works exists to do things that can be done better across churches than could be done individually.

Community Works is an established Charity and also has wider links with national organisational such as Gather, London Network of Networks, and the Cinnamon Network. The Charity also acts as an umbrella organisation for Job Club, a Befriending Scheme, Prayer for Sutton and Sutton Seniors.

SCW also resources the wider church with training events e.g. mental health and dementia friends training, as well as being involved in a number of local partnerships with the council, police, statutory agencies and forums.

Sutton Vineyard has members involved in all Community Works projects. You can get involved in these projects through volunteering your time and skills, giving financially, and supporting in prayer.
